Sustainability

Handloom needs no power to weave — the loom is driven by the weaver, which makes it one of the lowest-energy textile processes there is. We work with natural and low-impact dyes, keep cutting waste down in the workshop rather than in the marketing, and use offcuts for smaller pieces instead of discarding them. Buying directly from weaving families also keeps a craft alive that industrial textile production has spent a century displacing. We would rather sell fewer pieces that last than move volume.
